"This is a lecture on what makes Argentine Tango unique as a musical form. As tango dancers, understanding the music is a crucial element to dancing tango well. In this talk Alex will decode tango music’s structure to help dancers at any level listen deeper and understand the music better.”

8-10pm: Lecture and Q&A on the structure of Tango and what to listen for.
Saturday 2/4
11-12.30pm: Finding the groove: dancing rhythmically with flow.
12.30-2pm: Ways to dance lyrically.
Sunday 2/5
12-1.30pm: Layering in the music and in the dance. Stylistic elements of the different orchestras.
1.30-3pm: Dynamics & musical interaction between the leader and follower.
Seminar: $180 / $160 for LATA Members
This workshop is geared towards those with 8 months to 20 years of dance experience. Pre-registration is required. Workshop is limited to 40 people (role-balanced). Cost is per person/weekend.

Alex Krebs:
Alex is a complete fanatic about the dance, and shares his passion with his students. He teaches for the social dance floor emphasizing the improvisatory nature of tango through strong communication between lead and follow while also connecting with the music. Alex gives his students the vocabulary necessary for each person to find their own unique way of dancing -- dancing the tango of their own body.
